Cobalt Octoate, commonly known as Cobalt Accelerator, is a metal-based curing accelerator widely used in polyester and fiberglass resin systems. It helps to speed up the hardening process of resins when used with a catalyst like MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide).
It plays a vital role in initiating polymerization at room temperature by reacting with MEKP. Without cobalt, the curing of polyester resin will be very slow or incomplete. Cobalt Octoate is widely used in FRP lamination, door manufacturing, fiberglass products, and casting applications.
